The world of classic jewelry is based on the relationship between a set stone and a piece of jewelry that holds it. "FUN as in Function" is a project that challenges the traditional role play between a passive gem and its hosting jewelry. Instead the centerpieces of my jewelry become active by being given a functional purpose that is no longer based strictly on aesthetics.
My collection was born from the industrial way of thinking about clasps and connections. Before even thinking about the jewelry piece itself, I imagine its mechanism according to the properties of the materials at hand.
